MY WORK - NIJI-1
2023年 04月 07日 (金) 14:43 | 編集
I drew NIJI, a shelter cat that came to my house three years ago, with pencils and watercolors.

NIJI (1)
At the beginning of the drawing I was careful not to concentrate on a particular area or to make a hasty decision.
It is important to draw the entire paper in a roughly balanced manner.

NIJI (3)
In this case, I kept the background dark so that the cat would stand out.

NIJI (4)
The paper is coarse watercolor paper, so I use gauze and a rubbing pen to make sure the shadow areas and low facing areas are well densified.

NIJI (5)
Finishing the texture of the body hair patterns, flow, and beard, the pencil drawing is completed.
After this, coloring is done with transparent watercolor.

NIJI (6)
Completion.

BENCH SEAT REUPHOLSTERY

I decided to reupholster the seat of my shelter cat NIJI's favourite bench.

DSC_0226.jpg
This time I have prepared waterproof fabric.
It is staked out with a gun-tucker.

Treat corners as shown above.

In addition, the backing fabric was replaced.
I don't like the commonly used non-woven fabrics because they are too weak, so I cut and use rolled canvas for oil paintings.
There is no need to fold back the edges as with normal fabric.
The reupholstery is completed when the fabric is fastened with a gun-tacker.

The bench is completed by fixing it to the body of the bench with metal fittings.

These are images of NIJI using that bench.
